The Basics: Eyeliner

Every brand has them! Liquid, kohl, gel, long-lasting, the possibilities are endless, but I’ve been reaching for the same few liners as long as I can remember. I guess of all the products you can experiment with, liner is just one of those things that once you find a good thing, there’s no point in trying to replace it! I can also admit, that out of all the makeup I own, liner is the step I skip the most.   Liner can totally change a look, and most times I’m just too lazy or in a rush to perfect it. There is nothing worse than having your whole face done and jacking up your liquid liner on either side. Even still, I’ve got a favorite for every texture!

Inglot Gel Liner #77: The blackest creamiest gel liner I have ever used. Period. It also lasts forever without flaking or running.

L’oreal Lineur Intense: A great drugstore purchase! This liquid liner dries down to a semi glossy finish. The felt tip makes for easy application and the formula is super black.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Zero: I use this liner purely for my upper and lower waterline because it does not budge! It’s black but not the blackest black you’ve ever used, which I appreciate because I’m more often than not looking for a natural understated liner in those areas.

MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder: I love this pencil for those smudged out smokey looks! But don’t put it in your waterline because it will smudge and run onto your undereye concealer. I also like to use it as an eyeshadow base when I’m using dark shadows.

MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy: This is my favorite liner! It’s the perfect bronze brown and because it’s a kohl, it easily smudges for simple eye looks. I like to run it through my lower lash line and blend it out with a pencil brush before applying my mascara.

MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NW15: The easiest way to brighten your eyes! I love to wear this in my waterline with big lashes.

Well there it is, my go-to liners! When it comes to color, I really don’t have a favorite because I’m less particular about longevity and texture. I’ll use pretty much any colored liner as long as I like the shade.
