MAC is really stepping up their lip game! For years, MAC had really set the standard for lipstick shades and textures, and more recently they’ve been cranking out collection after collection of celeb and fashion collaborations, but not really releasing anything new as far as their lipstick formulas were concerned. Well that obviously left a void for other brands to get creative with formulas and stand out hues like we’ve seen with the liquid lipstick craze, so I am not surprised at all to see MAC releasing their own series of new permanent lip products. Last week I gave my favorite shades of the new Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colours, and now I’m sharing my favorite of their new Velvetease Lip Pencils!
Neither of which are groundbreaking formulas, but new to MAC, and therefore worth trying.
Reddy To Go, Velvet Teen, Oh Honey, Temper Tantrum
I really enjoy the cushiony softness of this matte formula! They are super pigmented but wear comfortably. They are also comparable to NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, but I prefer the MAC formula as it feels smoother and does not have to be sharpened.
These pencils are totally low maintenance and easy to apply. They obviously aren’t going to wear as long as liquid lips, but they also don’t stain and don’t have the same build-up, so reapplication is a breeze.
I like them a lot! I think the new Velvetease Lip Pencils are cool, easy, and necessary for your lip bag.
