MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colours

They’re here! The ones we have all been waiting for! I have been excited about this release since glimpses of its production started popping up on Instagram almost a year ago! I talk about my love for liquid lipsticks all the time and have Holy Grail favorites from Stila and ColourPop but it is something about MAC doing them that really got me hype.

The range of colors, as expected, is chock full of exciting, in your face hues! I got 5 of the 15 shades, and if I wasn’t moving so slow I would have snagged 7, but two of the ones that I wanted were sold out.

Being totally honest, I hate the packaging. I don’t like it and I can’t explain why. It’s just awkward and weird to me, but I do love the wand! I find that the shape makes for super easy application and clean lines. The point of the wand also makes it easy to get the points and small corners of your lips.

Back in Vogue is a nice peachy nude.

Fashion Legacy is an intense fire truck red. An instant hit with me. I can’t get enough of this color.

Tailored to Tease is a pretty popping fuchsia.

Another favorite, Recollection is a beautiful bright grape purple.

And Oh Lady is a rich wine red that I adore, especially for winter!

The finish of these lipsticks are obviously matte, but not uncomfortable. They have a suede texture that is nice on the lips without drying them out, although I did use my Bite Agave moisturizer to prep before each swatch. They have perfect all day wear, aside from your typical touch ups after eating. They can be found for $20 each on the MAC website right now, and I will be running to the stores tomorrow, January 7th, when they are officially released at counters to get the shades I missed out on!

Will you be purchasing any?

xoxo,

Dominique
